Design Process Details

Initial Consultation:
Sylvan Designs will meet with you and discuss your needs. An optional digital mock-up may also be provided after the consultation if requested. If you have specific content or material to be used in the web site, please provide it at this time.

Initial Proposal and Proposal Agreement:
You will be presented with a detailed, written proposal which will include the specific requirements and costs for domain name registration, hosting, design, and maintenance. At this point, the proposal can be modified based on needs, budget, etc. Once the proposal an agreement signed, the client provides 50% of the proposal amount, and Sylvan Designs begins creating the web site.

Web Site Development:
Sylvan Designs requires a 30 day minimum development period in which to build your website, starting the Monday after we receive a signed proposal agreement and 50% of the proposal amount.(Depending on the scale and size of your site, we are often able to have a first draft well before 30 days.

First Draft of Web Site:
We will present you with a first draft of your site within 30 days. Clients will typically have two weeks to make small/minor revisions, resulting in a second draft (turnaround time for the final draft varies based on the scale of revisions).

Final Draft of Web Site:
Once revisions are completed, client approves the Final Draft of the website and provides the remaining 50% of the proposal agreement.

Web Site Goes Live:
Upon receipt of remaining 50% of the proposal, Sylvan Designs activiates the site. Clients can also specify a date on which the site goes live.

Maintenance:
Web site revisions taking place after the site goes live will incur hourly maintenance fees specified in the proposal agreement.

Termination of Services:
Clients wishing to terminate services with Sylvan Desings after the 50% initial deposit is made are entitled to the following: a 50% refund of the deposit (or 25% of the total quote), and all access and privileges to the domain registrations already purchased (again, no refunds are available for domain name registrations; site hosting refunds may or may not be available). All materials provided by the client will be returned, but any digital files remain the property of Sylvan Designs.

Clients wishing to terminate services after the design and implementation process are completed and paid in full, will not receive any refunds but are entitled to all digital files associated with the website. Access and privileges to the domain registration will be transferred to the client (again, no refunds are available for domain name registrations). Partial refunds for unused hosting may be made, if possible.
